The Incredible Benefits Of Your Private Infra-Red Sauna – You Will Not Believe Your Eyes

Conventional saunas require high air temperature to pull impurities from the body, but an infra-red heated sauna can directly penetrate up to 45 millimetres inside the body for a great detox treatment.
As you relax in the gentle warmth of an infra-red sauna, your body is hard at work, producing sweat, burning calories and pumping blood.

Infrared sauna heat treatments allows increased blood circulation to carry great amounts of nutrients to the skin, thus promoting healthy skin tone and texture. The profuse sweating deeply cleanses the pores. Increased circulation has been shown to relieve eczema, acne, psoriasis, burns, and cuts. Wounds heal faster, which reduces scarring. Blood vessels dilate to help heal muscles and soft tissue while delivering oxygen-rich blood to oxygen-depleted muscles. This also helps soothe muscles after a strenuous work out.

Infra-red sauna therapy has a beneficial effect on cardiovascular conditioning and metabolism. A session in the sauna doubles the flow of blood to all the tissues of the body and exercises the heart. This is comparable to a similar time of exercise, although no muscle conditioning will result. This is useful as an augmentation to a regular exercise routine and is a good substitute for those who can’t exercise.

The infra-red sauna is a valuable component in any weight-loss program. They are routinely used for its excellent calorie burning effects. A sauna can accelerate weight loss in a person who is already exercising and following a sensible and healthy alkaline diet. A half-hour session can burn up to 600 calories. Therefore, two sessions a day of 45 minutes each can burn up to 1800 calories, per day, which is equivalent to almost two hours of vigorous aerobic exercise.

According to an American Medical Association journal report, a 20-30 minute session creates approximately the same amount of perspiration as a six-mile run, so you can loose weight not just water. While the weight of the water loss can be regained by hydration with water, the calories consumed will not be.

The sauna improves blood circulation to the skin and results in a deep pore cleansing. This results in an improved elasticity and skin tone. Regular practictioners are said to have more youthful skin that “glows”. People with chronic skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema will benefit from regular sauna sessions. If the person is heat sensitive, the temperature of the sauna can be turned down to a level that the person can tolerate. Burn victims and people with scars can also benefit from the improved healing of the skin.

Typical sweat produced under normal conditions contains 3% toxins and 97% water. Sweat produced from an infrared sauna is found to be 15-20% toxins and 80-85% water. Infrared saunas can assist treating cellulite (a gel-like substance made up of water, wastes and fat which are trapped in pockets below the skin) as profuse sweating helps clear this form of unwelcomed debris from the body. European beauty specialists confirm that infrared sauna sessions will greatly accelerate any anti-cellulite program. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart works harder pumping blood at a greater rate to boost circulation, providing the benefits of continuous exercise. The heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate increase, while diastolic blood pressure drops for improved overall cardiovascular fitness.

Infrared saunas are regularly used to treat:

Neuralgia
Arthritis
Sprins
Fibromyalgia
Muscle spasms
Joint stiffness

People report being able to sleep better after their sauna sessions. A sauna session relaxes muscles, circulates the blood, stimulates the heart, and releases endorphins, providing a feeling of invigoration. Due to the many physiological effects of heat therapy, people feel less stressed after a sauna session.

Is there such a thing as a far infrared sauna made with natural materials?

My friend has systemic lupus, raynauds, and gulf war disease which is a rare bacteria that doesn’t respond to anything. It doesn’t have a cell wall and goes thru barriers of every kind in the body. We feel far infrared would help her but are worried about the plastics that most of them are made of.

My infrared sauna is constructed out of cedar panels. Many out there on the market are, as far as I know.

Health Mate Saunas and Sunlight Saunas are 2 manufacturers that I know of you can check into.

Ideal Infrared Sauna Temperature

Basically, infrared sauna is a device that works on the principle of heat and is usually, a wooden box or a small wooden room. The room contains infrared heaters which provide the actual infrared therapy.

Traditional saunas make use of heaters to warm the air and the rocks in the room. The rocks tend to reach extremely high temperatures when placed over the heat source and help the room maintain the heat. The average temperature of traditional saunas range from 170 degrees to 190 degrees and at times may reach above 200 degrees. So, when a person sits in these temperatures, it increases the body temperature too, thus causing the person to sweat. Some people may experience a steam shock by throwing water onto the rocks in the traditional sauna.

In contrast, the infrared saunas use different types of heaters that cause waves from the infrared and heat the body directly rather from the air. In comparison, the temperature in the room of an infrared sauna is much lower than a traditional sauna and ranges from 110 degrees to 130 degrees. This is highly beneficial since it allows people to remain in the sauna for a longer period of time. So, when the body remains in the infrared cabin for a longer period, the sweat is more and thereby, the benefit too.

In outer appearance too, infrared saunas are different in that, they do not have rocks and so, do not produce steam and look more like panels. Infrared sauna heaters heat directly without rising the temperature of the air, much like the natural sun, but without the harmful ultra violet rays.

In an infrared heater, the lower the surface temperature, the better, because when the temperature is low, the infrared wavelength will be more and the effect will be more. The temperature of an infrared sauna differs from one model of heater to another and the one which is below 480 degrees is considered to be good.

The surface area of the heater also influences the temperature because when the surface area is more; the effect will be more. This is one of the reasons why quality heaters come in panels or sheets of some types. Hence we see that the surface temperature and surface area are vital while deciding on the purchase of an infrared sauna. But people who have medical problems like cardio vascular diseases should refrain from getting exposed to high temperatures of infrared sauna.

Interestingly, since infrared saunas have lower temperatures than their traditional counter parts, there will be a significant decrease in the heat bill every month. Hence infrared sauna not only makes a person healthier, but also makes him happier, by reducing the cost of owning an infrared sauna.
