how long will it take me to lose weight?


I am almost 15 years old and am 140 pounds. I asked the doc if i should lose some weight to be healthy. he says that i am healthy the way i am but if i wanted to be perfect for my height i should be around 130 lbs, so i want to lose 10 pounds. i was wondering if anyone could give me tips, maybe tell me how many calories is ok to eat each day for a growing teen??? i do have an elliptical at home. how often should i go on it and for how long? what foods should i stay away from? should i go in my mom’s portable infrared sauna? is infrared different from a normal sauna, and will it help me lose weight? any answers are appreciated.
also how long will it take to lose the 10 lbs.?

Hmm.. you have a lot of questions! I would be here all day trying to answer, so I will give you a few of my favorite websites.
Saunas are really only good for sweating some stuff out of your body, like a Brita filter. It only helps you lose water weight however which you should be replacing after you exercise anyway. Basically, I wouldn’t recommend sitting in the sauna for 30 mins after every workout like my retarded roommate. Apart from that, 30-40 mins of cardio a day while cutting back about 300-400 calories (just replace 1 meal a day with a bowl of cereal or something small) should get you to reach your goal in around 2-3 weeks.
