Don’t want to wear shorts?
I don’t wear shorts in the summer or hot weather and I wear long jeans and pants all summer long, not that I don’t have nice legs I just don’t want to show them because I don’t want people to stare or guck at my legs, also i’ll feel naked and like um in my underware. My best friend Wendy who is also 13 lives across the street from me. She also doesn’t wear shorts either in the summer, both are Moms are constanly nagging us to start to wear shorts. Today me & my Mom went across street to visit Wendy and her Mom (Mrs. Beck) My Mom & Mrs Beck wearing their short shorts and scandals and me and Wendy were wearing jeans and sneakers. Wendy starting complain how hot it was and that her thighs are sticking to her pants. my Mom & Mrs. Beck told Wendy that you should wear shorts, Wendy yelled back to her Mom and She said ” I hate shorts and they look dumb”, And I’m not wearing them” Then Wendy’s Aunt Jean & Cousin Jill came over to visit and they were wearing short shorts too, First words out of her Aunt to me & Wendys, Why are we not wearing shorts ? wearing jeans in 95+ humidty is riduclus and then her Cousin said . it’s looks like you guys got a portable saunas in them jeans refering to the sweat marks on our jeans. Mrs Beck got really mad and said I’ve been trying to get her to wear shorts for years. Then Mrs. Beck then said she was going in to make some lemonade for us and she told Wendy to come in and help her. We started to hear Mrs. Beck & Wendy yelling at each other. I peaked in Wendy’s bed rm window Mrs. Beck kept repeatingly telling Wendy to take her jeans off, and put on some shorts that she bought for her. then the yelling stopped. A couple of minutes later Mrs Beck came back out with the lemonade and Wendy came out right behind her, and OMG she had bare legs too and Wendy was wearing short shorts and scandals too. My Mom told Wendy “Now you came to your senses, u got nice legs and look good wearing shorts”. Wendy told us her Mom made her put them on . Now Wendy looks just like the rest of them. A few minutes later Wendy says Wow I can’t believe i’m not hot anymore. Then they all said we told you so. Then Wendy tells me they were right you should start wearing shorts too. Now she’s just like the rest of them. My Mom told me tonight to make sure I shave my legs. because tommorow your going stop being foolish and You’ll be much drier and more comfortable; I guarantee it. Do you think she’s going to make me wear shorts ? I hope not

girl i feel ya. i used to be the same way. i felt really exposed wearing short shorts but all the people at my school wore them and so did my friends so i was like alright, i’ll try it. so i got myself a pair of shorts and now that’s all i wear! trust me, you might feel awkward at first but once you get over that feeling you’ll be okay and wish you started wearing shorts earlier!!
stop torturing yourself with those jeans! especially in this hot weather! i’m sure you have beautiful legs and you’ll look just fine. have confidence in yourself. just try it. you won’t regret it. well you might at first, but not afterwards.

I know what it feels like to be against something that it seems like everyone else wants you to do, I don’t wear any brand names and I am constantly nagged for it.
But seriously, I would just give it a try. Maybe your feelings will change. When was the last time you wore shorts?
And for you actual question, it depends on how much control your mom has over you. She could threaten you into wearing shorts, or she could just give up. Who knows?

hey girl, chill. im sure your legs are fine and you can wear shorts. you dont have to wear short shorts, just like knee length shorts or something. i mean, everyone wears shorts and no one is going to be only focusing on you and what you wear. how come you dont like shorts? do you think your fat? IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS, JUST BE YOURSELF AND STRUT YOUR STUFF LOL. you can wear shorts without being just like everyone else. get a super cute pair at your favorite store and pair them with a nice tee or tank. just cause everyone else wears shorts, it doesnt make a special club that segregates them from the people that wear long pants. so many people wear shorts only because of hot weather, not because they are in some sort of special club.

I read the WHOLE thing! I think you should wear caprees. Ask your mom to buy caprees. They’re usually below the knee and to get used to wearing shorts you can eventually go shorter and shorter with the caprees. But really, if you wore shorts more often, you would like them more. Just try them tomorrow…you might be surprised!
