I’ve had many satisfied customers purchase this product and it certainly sounds like the unit you had was defective. It should also be noted that we are in no way affiliated with National Pool Wholesalers.

I have owned this product for almost a year now. I use it average 1~2 times a week. With this price tag, it’s better than I expected. I’ve saved several hundred dollars (and time) by not needing to go to public rec centers or gyms.

There were some minor annoyances though:

1. I don’t have enough space on the side for the steamer; but with some clear vinyl tubing and insulation wrap(bought from Lowes), I was able to connect the steamer from the front.

2. Steamer is not well designed to withstand the heat it generates, the left side, the bottom (floor), and the timer knob all suffered visible heat damage.

3. There should be an additional (swingable) struts support in the upper-front section, otherwise its two sides tend to “collapse” toward the center.

Even with all these shortcomings, considering the price, value and health benefit I’ve enjoyed, I am still willing to give it a 4 star rating.

I’m very surprised to read about the malfunctioning units, or that the sauna does not get hot. Mine works fine and gets very hot – I love it.

I absolutely love the IG170 sauna and used it daily for two weeks when I first received it. However, the steamer failed and I had to pay a hefty postage fee to mail it to Canada for repair. I was disappointed that neither Amazon or Caduceus Aromatics chose to reimburse me for shipping. The unit was repaired relatively quickly and is working. But the policy of both companies toward shipping of NEW defective products should be re-evaluated.

It produces steam at 5 minute intervals for approximately 30 seconds. It never really steams up. I used it and never sweated. It was very frustrating and a waste of time and especially money. Unfortunately, I did not buy this product through Amazon. I bought it directly from National Pool Wholesalers. Their return and refund policy is not customer friendly. If you send a product back, it’s at the customer’s expense. I called the company before I shipped the item back and explained the problem concerning the unit. I was told that the steam was suppose to be constant and to send it back and it would be tested. I shipped it back with a detailed letter explaining what the problem was. I waited for over a week after NPW had received the unit back, I did not hear from NPW, so I called them. I was told I would be refunded. The unit cost me $199, I paid $22 to ship it back to NPW, and NPW refunded me $139. I was charged a $60 restocking/shipping fee. So, it was $82 loss.NPW said it worked, when it clearly did not. I went back and forth with the company because it did not work. The sauna was something I really wanted, so I would not have sent it back if it worked. Their finally response was that it worked and for me to make arrangements to have it shipped back to me [more money out of my pocket].I declined. NPW clearly states in their refund/return policy that the customer is responsible for shipping the product back and if the product works there is a restocking fee. This is clearly a dilemma for the customer, it certainly was for me, knowing that if you send it back and the company says it does work you lose. Almost a 50% loss. The product did not work or was ineffective. A win/win for NPW and a significant loss for the customer. Stick with Amazon, because, they treat their customers right. One more thing about the product, it’s manufactured overseas, no surprise, and the manual is written in broken english.
